I consider it an honor and a privilege to have been called by the membership of Temple Emanuel to serve as their Rabbi and spiritual leader. My journey as a rabbi has been filled with meaning and challenge, and I am excited about the opportunity to continue this journey at Temple Emanuel in St. Louis.
"Religion," Abraham Joshua Heschel taught us, "is not what we do in our solitariness; religion is what we do in the presence of God." At Temple Emanuel we have created a special community that allows us to connect with each other as a way to connect with God.
- We are a community of people seeking to be in God's presence - and do the right thing – within the framework of liberal Reform Judaism.
- We welcome families and individuals of all kinds and of all styles. The diversity of backgrounds in our congregation adds to our creative energy.
- Because everyone here cares, everyone matters. We work hard to make sure that everyone feels comfortable.
- As a congregation, we are large enough to meet needs of all our congregants (we have 365 families), yet small enough to know your name.
- We are committed to lifelong Jewish learning by providing opportunities for adults as well as children during Sunday morning religious school.
In everything we do we will strive to build and nurture community, and thereby connect with God. Come and see for yourself. You are welcome to visit us at any time, even on the High Holy Days. There is always a place for you at Temple Emanuel .
I would love the opportunity to talk with you, so please feel to call me at (314) 432-5877, or you can e-mail me by clicking on this link: RabbiTaub@testl.org
