Our Community

Temple Emanuel is an intimate, caring community which encourages our members to be involved and to make a difference.  Our community does not stop at the walls of our building, but reaches out to congregants online and to members of the broader St. Louis community.

It has been this way from the beginning, through the civil rights movement to our current social action programs to Save Darfur, build homes with Habitat for Humanity, and our “Care and Share” program which prepares and delivers meals to Medicaid participants.

Temple Emanuel historically has been and remains today on the cutting edge, providing open programming and a welcoming religious home to all interfaith families.  Temple Emanuel is a place where interfaith couples can feel comfortable getting married – and staying to raise their children in a Reform Jewish tradition that respects the diverse traditions present within our homes.
