Our Sanctuary

The Temple Emanuel sanctuary was designed by renowned architect William Bernoudy (an early apprentice to Frank Lloyd Wright) and built in 1962. Its stunning natural brick and wood design expressed the founders' artistic vision for a place of worship and study that reflected their ideas about modernity.

Temple Emanuel Rendering

Once considered to be on the outer edges of the metro area, Temple Emanuel now sits squarely in the center of the St. Louis Jewish community (near the intersection of Highway 40/64 and I-270) and easily accessible to all.

A recent renovation that updated the sanctuary allows for an intimate worship service on Shabbat but is expandable to accommodate any size life-cycle event or the entire congregation during the High Holy Days.
